In the summer of 1994, the Visual Basic Developers On-Line Group (VBdogs)
started as a Toronto-based user group focused on the sharing of
information and the promotion of knowledge related to the development of
software in the local Visual Basic community. The group consisted of
mostly contract and professional developers. Members participated in
small monthly discussion meetings and, as the
technologies and tools changed, the group became an important regional
hub for information and an excellent avenue for networking with other
developers.
Over the past few years, the number of
user groups has increased significantly in the Toronto area and VBdogs
have continued to participate in all local developer community events
and get together on a regular basis. In addition to local discussion
meetings and special VBdogs events, the group has also shifted to a more
global focus to become an online resource of information for
developers around the world. Membership to the group is open to
anyone interested in participating in the sharing of information about
development topics related to Visual Basic.
